Towards a sustainable culture of prevention in personal care

The inspiring example of ADMR 64 and Moovency

In the personal care sector, occupational health is a major challenge. Care and support professions are physically demanding and emotionally engaging. Yet, a true culture of prevention is emerging — one that places people at the heart of performance and well-being at work.

This is the successful achievement of ADMR 64, supported by MOOVENCY, a pioneer in quantifying physical risks related to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) through computer vision technology.

The ADMR (Aide à Domicile en Milieu Rural – Home Help in Rural Areas) is a national non-profit network recognized for its commitment to well-being, solidarity, and social connection in both rural and urban communities.
Founded in 1945, ADMR’s mission is to support people throughout their lives, providing personalized assistance at home regardless of age, health, or personal situation.

With thousands of local associations across France, ADMR relies on a strong local presence and the joint efforts of dedicated volunteers and qualified professionals. This combination ensures high-quality services that truly meet the needs of each individual.

Its main areas of activity include:

  • Personal assistance: supporting elderly, disabled, or vulnerable individuals.

  • Family services: childcare, parenting support, and homework assistance.

  • Home maintenance: cleaning, laundry, shopping, and meal preparation.

  • Social connection: companionship visits, listening, and community initiatives.

Beyond its daily services, ADMR promotes strong human values such as respect, solidarity, proximity, and commitment. Thanks to its local roots and community spirit, ADMR plays a key role in maintaining social cohesion and quality of life throughout the country.

A clear ambition : Making prevention a lasting driver for change

With over 650 employees and more than 520,000 hours of service provided each year, the ADMR 64 Federation is a key player in personal care services in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region.
But in 2022, a clear reality emerged : the number of sick leaves had doubled in just three years. Faced with this challenge, management decided to launch a sustainable occupational health and safety prevention strategy.

The objectives:

  • Understand the root causes of risks and absenteeism.

  • Create the conditions for greater well-being at work by involving all teams.

  • Rely on innovative technological and educational solutions.

A co-constructed, field-driven approach

Moovency’s support began with a comprehensive ergonomic assessment, combining the analysis of physical, emotional, and organizational constraints.

From this collaborative work emerged a structured action plan built around three key pillars :

> Creating a network of health and safety representatives

These trained employees act as field ambassadors. They lead discussion sessions, co-develop solutions, and contribute to collective reflection.
“Quarterly meetings and working groups have created real momentum and enthusiasm around prevention.”

> Strengthening teamwork and social dialogue

Through workshops, open discussions, and engaging initiatives such as an educational escape game, teams share their practices and experiences.

> Building skills through MSD training

The training developed with Moovency helps employees become more aware of their bodies in space, understand the link between mental load, emotions, and MSDs, and co-construct healthier professional practices.

KIMEA : Technology serving prevention

At the heart of the initiative, KIMEA, the solution developed by Moovency, enables detailed and visual posture analysis using just a simple camera.

Employees can visualize their movements, understand which areas are being stressed, and adjust their gestures accordingly.

“Thanks to the gesture analysis, I corrected my posture and reduced my back pain,” says Céline, a home care worker at ADMR.

This approach also highlights field experience : best practices are transformed into shared resources in the form of video tutorials or exercises performed in real work situations.

A sustainable culture of prevention

Beyond the tools, a true culture of prevention is spreading throughout the teams.
The establishment of safety representatives, interactive training sessions, and the use of KIMEA as a collective support have profoundly changed the way work is approached.

ADMR 64 is going even further: the creation of IFAAD (ADMR Training Institute) continues this momentum by recruiting, retaining, and professionalizing employees in the sector.

Conclusion

The example of ADMR 64 clearly demonstrates that a prevention policy cannot simply be decreed : it is built collectively, step by step, using concrete tools and a shared commitment.

Through an approach combining technological innovation, collective intelligence, and human engagement, ADMR 64 and Moovency are paving the way toward a sustainable future for personal care professions.
